Trekking In Nepal Post-Covid Pandemic has been restarted. It has been more than a year since we faced the pandemic but compared to the last years Nepal has restarted trekking and traveling for international trekkers and travelers. Nepal’s tourism government had already started to give out permits to international tourists on 17/October/2020. Everything was going well for months but due to the second wave of Covid-19, the country was forced to close its borders and go on lockdown.
Until April 2021 Nepal government was giving permits to foreigners but due to the second wave, it was forced to ban them again. Compared with the world Nepal has fewer cases of Covid-19 and has more than 64% of the population vaccine where the employees who work in the tourism industry in Nepal are all vaccinated. According to the Department of Immigration, they planned to provide the tourist visa to the vaccinated foreigners on the day of arrival on October 1st, 2021.
Back then international tourist had to be vaccinated and must have their negative PCR report which must be recorded within 72 hours. One must have a hotel booking at your destination stop and have travel insurance. On your journey, you must carry your permits.
According to the situation, the COVID-19 cases in Nepal are very less so the government of Nepal has removed the rule of quarantine. This rule applies to tourists who are fully vaccinated. You can get a visa easily and will be getting it on the day of arrival. If you are fully vaccinated, then you can visit Nepal without any protocol.
If you are planning to visit or trek Nepal and thinking about the borders, then Yes the borders in Nepal are already open. The Nepalese government has started to give permits to tourists. Compared to the whole world Nepal has the least covid-19 cases. Overall more than 60% of the total population has been vaccinated and almost everyone involved in the tourism sector is vaccinated as well. However, you will not need a PCR test report now but if you want you can carry it.
The government of Nepal has started to resume trekking and mountaineering however they have issued safety measures for tourists. So, if you are a trekking enthusiast then you are welcome to Nepal.
Some important things that you must consider before you fly. You will not require a covid-19 test report from now but you may have to carry it as your Airlines could check before you board. You will also require a vaccination status along with hotel booking confirmation and CCMC form.
Once you are in Nepal your hotel may provide you with an antigen test before entry but it may differ according to the hotel because different hotels may have their protocols. If you develop symptoms, then get yourself tested immediately get self-isolated, and try to cure with available medicines. Remember that your treatment and rescue have to be paid for yourself.

They have started to take bookings. The tourism-related activities and agencies have started their business as well as providing tourist buses along with long route services from Kathmandu to various destinations.

Nepal has opened its borders to international tourists but that doesn’t mean you are free to do anything. You will have to follow the rules to be safe such as wearing a mask is a must as it helps you to be protected from the virus. A mask is a must but according to WHO triple-layered mask can make you safer compared to other single-layered masks.
Keep in mind that you must throw the mask in the dustbin after use rather than throwing it on the roads. Carry a sanitizer every time and use it before eating. Try to avoid touching your eyes with your hands and try to avoid going to crowded places. The situation in Nepal has become normal and all the tourism businesses have started to operate their services but still, the tourism level is low compared to past years.
As the condition has turned out normal it is a golden opportunity to visit Nepal because the level of tourists is low and the crowd will be below so you will get the opportunity to explore more places.
