Everest Base Camp Trek – 15 Days

Getting to the height of Kalapathar (Black rock) 5,545 m is an achievement of the Everest base camp trek for 15 days. After a day of sightseeing and exploration throughout Kathmandu, this trek begins with a dynamic flight towards Lukla (Tenzing Hillary Airport). Developing trek forward offers Sagarmatha National Park occupying a massive area (1,148 km2) with much rare flora and fauna. Passing through several mini walls, suspension, and wooden bridges, pleasing Rhododendron, and Pine forests admit to Namche Bazaar (A large settlement of legendary Sherpa). Wonderful close landscape views of giant peaks holding heights above 8,000 m including Mount Everest (8,848 m), Mount Lhotse (8,586 m), and Mount Cho Oyu (8,188 m) with frequent peaks below 8,000 mare stunning reward of Everest base camp trek. Our classic Everest base camp trek encounters numerous glacial valleys, Sherpa settlements, Teahouses, praying stones, Buddhist monuments, and stupas including the oldest Khumbu region Monastery in Tengboche. Fantastic Glacial walk at the foot of Khumbu icefall, 360° view throughout giant mountains, and Kalapathar being changed into golden color by morning direct sun rays make the Everest base camp trek more significant. After steeping our aimed destination, we gradually follow the back route downward to Lukla and catch a flight to Kathmandu which finally ends our 15 days trekking package of Everest base camp.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m)
On the first day after you arrive in Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport), our representatives warmly welcome you with great respect and greetings along with transferring you to a fine tourist hotel. We also hold a short meeting at our head office to introduce you to our trekking members and we discuss our upcoming trek too.

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing
On the second day after having a hot breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour throughout Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swyambhunath Stupa (monkey Temple) which are listed on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. After noticing these wonderful sights, we return to the hotel and start finalizing our clothing and trekking gear. The second night will also be spent at the same hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Kathmandu – Ramechhap – Lukla (2,642 m) – Phakding (2,562 m)
On the third day according to our flight schedule, we will drive around 4 hours to Ramechhap Airport to catch our (30 to 35 minute) Himalayan scenic flight and fair landing at Lukla (gateway of Khumbu/Everest region). Leaving Lukla, we start our short (3 to 4 hours) trek downhill towards the Sherpa settlement of Cheplung along following the Dudh Koshi valley, we step Phakding. This night we stay at the lodge in Phakding.

Day 4: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)
On the fourth day, we trigger our trek forward crossing several Sherpa settlements, suspension bridges, and pine forests to reach the official permit checkpoint (entrance to Sagarmatha National Park). Continue to walk through the junction point of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers along a developing certain upward hike with starting view of the Himalayas through the pleasing forest leading to Namche Bazaar for a stay overnight. 

Day 5: Namche Bazaar: (first day of Acclimatization)
On the fifth day, we are already on elevation above 3,000 m so before ascending additional height, we focus on proper acclimatization and we don’t trigger our trek forward. On this day, we plan and hike towards local areas to explore minor Sherpa villages and on leisure/rest time you can hang out at Internet coffee shops or visit museums. This night we stay at the same lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6: Namche Bazaar – Tengboche (3,870 m)
On the sixth day after enjoying our delicious breakfast, we aim to reach Tengboche and move forward passing through curvy hillsides holding rhododendron forests, memorial stupas, and Sherpa settlements, which take us to Kyangjumg. Moving forward observing many snowcapped mountains and crossing over Dudh Koshi River enters Imja Khola valley along two hours more pull towards hilltop steps Tengboche. There we explore Tengboche monastery and spend the night in the lodge.

Day 7: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m)
On the seventh day of splitting Tengboche, we start our journey through stone steps crossing Chortens and a long mini wall along Imja Khola to ascend Pangboche. Walking with a close view of mountains through terraced fields offers Dingboche. Extra time will be spent on exploring around Sherpa settlement the night will also be spent at the lodge in Dingboche. 

Day 8: Dingboche: (second day of acclimatization)
On eight days, we are already above the height of 4,000 m so this day is separated as the second acclimatization day.  This day we won’t stay idol, we hike up towards the north and sight many other famous peaks with Dingboche Valley on the floor.  In the remaining time, we will self-prepare for the remaining journey and spend our night in the same lodge in Dingboche.

Day 9: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 m)
On the ninth day after having morning breakfast, we climb to the ridge and continue through yak pastures, a wooden bridge, and a roaring stream to reach Dungla. Crossing many views of mountains and memorial stupas from here, we climb up the steep terminal of Khumbu glacier to breathe in Lobuche. This day is to enjoy the view of many mountains in the Himalayas during the trek and stay on Lobuche. 

Day 10: Lobuche – Everest base camp (5,364 m) – Gokarshep (5,160 m)
On the tenth day, we aim to step to our final destination point and develop our walk early morning passing through a windblown rocky path to Gokarshep for lunch. Targeting Everest base camp, we move on, and finally, after some hours Everest base camp is steeped. Nearly, you can also sight 360° stunning view from a high altitude and spend some hours there, we return to Gokarshep and spend our night there. 

Day 11: Gokarshep – Kalapathar (5,550 m) – Pheriche (4,358 m)
On the eleventh day after having an early morning breakfast, we hike up for a couple of hours through the Himalayan chain to reach the viewpoint of Kalapathar (5,545 m) before sunrise. We notice the view of Kalapathar growing golden when the first sunray of the day is spotted there and gradually it changes back to its original color as before. As an addition, we notice numerous tall mountains around and after appreciating those pleasing views, we return aiming Pheriche for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Pheriche – Namche Bazaar (3,400 m)
On the twelfth day after having our breakfast on Pheriche, we continue our walk downhill to Pangboche passing pleasing forests and a bridge over Imja Khola, we climb up for some hours to step Tengboche. Developing our trek continuously passing Dudh Koshi River and mini-settlements offers Kyangjuma along the easy walk for some hours leaving Kyangjuma, we reach Namche Bazaar. This night will be spent at Namche Bazaar relaxing in restaurants and cafes. 

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (3,652 m)
On the thirteenth day leaving Namche Bazaar, we catch our trail which drops us near the junction point of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River, and then we reach Monjo. As same as before, we consider some formalities at the checkpoint of the National Park and continue our walk towards Phakding for our lunch along enjoying an easy walk through Rhododendron forests and Sherpa villages, we reach Lukla overnight. This night will be our last night in the Himalayas.

Day 14: Lukla– Ramechhap – Kathmandu (1,300 m)
On the fourteenth day, we catch our morning flight towards Ramechhap after having a delicious breakfast. The guide takes care of all of your airport formalities and porters will be there to transfer your bag and luggage to Airport. After 30 to 35 minutes of flight over snowcapped mountains, we reach Ramechhap and drive toward Kathmandu. Since it will be the last night in Kathmandu, we will enjoy Nepali food in a Nepalese restaurant with an ethnic dance and music program as a farewell dinner.

Day 15: Departure
On the last day managing your short time, you can go shopping to collect souvenirs for your friends and family members.  We help you with your necessary arrangements and flight booking along with our private vehicle transfers you to the airport focusing on departure time. Well-wishers and representatives will be there with greetings to wish you and your safe steps ahead.
