Everest Base Camp trekking via Jiri for 24 days is difficult and adventurous for hikers who want to spend a lot of time in the Himalayas of Nepal. We have a long drive from Kathmandu to Jiri to start our journey.
The lower Everest region journey, which begins in Jiri and passes through several communities, forests, bridges, tiny settlements, and monuments, ends at Lukla. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m)
Today starting the day of our trip, we send our organization agents to pick you up at Tribhuwan International Airport. You will be heartily welcomed with greetings and shifted towards a tourist standard hotel. We additionally plan for a meeting at our office for a discussion about the upcoming trek.
Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing and trekking preparation
Kathmandu Valley is the real spot to sight major cultural and historical sites. Early morning, we step forward to sightsee some historical spots which are on UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After spending some hours exploring these locations, we return for finalizing our trekking equipment, which is required during our trek, and this night we spend at the fine hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Jiri (1,955 m) 7 to 8 hours by bus
Early morning after having a delicious breakfast, our private vehicle transfers us to the bus station to catch a bus towards Jiri. After that leaving Kathmandu, we pass through Bhaktapur, Banepa, Dhulikhel, and many other large settlements viewing terraced fields and following the Araniko highway to reach Jiri. After stepping into Jiri, we explore the town for some hours and spent a night at the lodge in Jiri.
Day 4: Trek to Shivalaya (1,770 m) 4 to 5 hours walk
Today, we develop our trek climbing through steep rocky and dusty paths viewing the famous snow-capped mountains including Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung to reach Chitre. From there, the trail drops down to the riverside and crosses the suspension bridge finally taking to the bottom of the valley, Shivalaya. Leisure hours will be spent exploring the village of Shivalaya and nights will be spent at Lodge there.
Day 5: Trek to Bhandar (2,190 m) 5 to 6 hours walk
Leaving the beautiful village of Shivalaya, we start the uphill climb, and finally, at the top of the hill, we step down Deurali (2,710 m). From here, crossing a pleasing forest trail drops downhill which leads towards Bandar. Finally, after stepping aim destination of the day remaining hours will be spent exploring Tibetan Gompas and the twin stupa there and this night will be spent at a lodge in Bandar.
Day 6: Trek to Sete (3,220 m) 7-hour walk
Aiming for our destination, we move forward passing different settlements of Dokharpa and Baranda. Walking downhill through the pleasing forest takes you to the Likhu River. From there, crossing the bridge over Khola, we continue our walk towards Likhu Khola valley and climb a ridge to ascend Kinja along a short walk takes to Chimbu and continuing walk through the rhododendron forest offers Sete for stay overnight.
Day 7: Junbesi (2,700 m) 6 to 7 hours walk
Today, we trigger our trek in the early morning with a steep climb through Rhododendron, pine, and juniper forests followed by a few scattered farmhouses and tea houses till Lamjura pass. Enjoy the awesome view of green hills trail drops towards Sherpa village Junbesi by crossing a lovely forest. This night will be spent at the lodge in Junbesi.
Day 8: Acclimatization day
Though we are at an acceptable elevation, we have separated this day as an acclimatization day to make our trip easier and more effective. On this day, we spend our day exploring Junbesi (Sherpa village) or hiking up to Phugmochhe to visit the traditional Sherpa Art Center. For the remaining few hours, we rest at a lodge and spent this overnight at the same lodge in Junbesi.
Day 9: Trek to Nunthala (2,194 m) 6 to 7 hours walk
Today crossing a wooden bridge, we reach the trail junction, and following that trial, we climb up the pleasing forest and descent to Phurteng to sight the first view of giant Mount Everest along with many other famous mountains too. Continuing to walk through crossing numerous rivers and settlements along Trakshindo La pass, we walk down to Trashingo. From here, a short walk passing rhododendron forest and terraced fields offer Nunthala an overnight stay.
Day 10: Trek to Khari Khola (2,040 m) 4 to 5 hours walk
Today, we develop our trial descending downward towards Dudh Koshi River till we meet the bridge. After crossing the bridge across the river, we walk towards Jubing passing terraced fields and forests, and then we straight head toward Churkha, and from here, an easy step climb takes us to the Sherpa village of Khari Khola to spend a night.
Day 11: Trek to Paiya (2,730 m) 5 to 6 hours walk
Developing our easy steps forward from Khari Khola, the trail first takes us to cross a suspension bridge, and a steep ascend offers Bupsa. From Bupsa, the trial further rises towards Kharte crossing woods and a few tea shops and we continue our walk forward-viewing mountains until we reach Paiya. After stepping up to Paiya, we spent our night there.
Day 12: Trek to Phakding (2,652 m) 6 to 7 hours walk
Quitting Paiya in the morning time, we pass Surke walking through winding trails and climbing towards Chaurikharka (the best fertile land in Khumbu Region). Continuing our walk, after a short time we can join the regular Everest Base Camp trail at Lukla and after a 3 to 4 hours walk from Lukla, Phakding is steeped. After that, this night will be spent at the lodge in Phakding.
Day 13: Trek to Namche (3, 440 m) 6 to 7 hours
Today, leaving Phakding and following our trek forward through the east bank of Dudh Koshi River crossing several suspension bridges and attractive rhododendron forests, we reach Monjo (gateway of Sagarmatha national park) where you can enjoy tea shops. From Monjo, ultimately permit check post arrives, and after finishing all the terms, we start to walk uphill finally we reach Namche Bazaar for spending our night.
Day 14: Acclimatization day
This day is also separated from acclimatization day because we are on the high increasing elevation of more than 3,000 m so we need proper acclimatization for that we don’t develop our step upward this day but this day we plan to explore nearby villages, visit the museum, national parks and enjoy on internet free cafes on beyond time.
Day 15: Trek to Tengboche (3,867 m) 4 to 5 hours walk
Developing an early trek through the glacial walk of Dudh Koshi River, enjoying views of Mount Everest, Mount Nuptse, Mount Lhotse, and Amadablam along passing settlements, mini walls, and pleasing forests finally offers Sansa. From here, we take a step to ascend to step Tengboche and we explore the monastery for thereon remaining hours before joining the lodge there.
Day 16: Trek to Pheriche (4,240 m) 4 to 5 hours walk
On day sixteenth leaving a beautiful village, we drop our walk down towards the river and after crossing the noisy river, we walk through lush forest and mini-settlements to ascend to Pangboche. From there, again we climb up passing alpine meadows and yak herds until we reach Pheriche. The night will be spent at the lodge in Pheriche.
Day 17: Acclimatization day
This day is also divided as acclimatization day at an elevation above 4,000 m. For proper acclimatization, we spend our day exploring Pheriche, or as an option, we can hike up towards rigid for enjoying and noticing the stunning view of great mountains. We also study the culture and lifestyle of people in Pheriche and this night will also be spent at the same lodge in Pheriche.
Day 18: Trek to Lobuche (4,928 m) 4 to 5 hours
Developing a moderate and easy trek leaving the Pheriche trail leads towards Imja Valley. Developing our trek forward, we step Dingboche, in the same way, crossing Khumbu Khola valley and Dughla offers Dusa. After reaching Dusa, the valley begins to narrow down, and walking forward towards a roaring stream leaving the glacier behind takes to Lobuche to stay overnight.
Day 19: Trek to Everest base camp (5,380 m and Gokarshep (5,160 m) 3 to 4 hours
We head forward quitting Lobuche passing a pyramid sign and targeting Everest base camp. After a few ups and downs we reach Gokarshep, and following the route, walking through rocky trails and glaciers finally step Everest base camp. Nearly small ascend offers 360 views of tall mountains from the satisfying top. After spending some hours capturing the moments, we come down to Gokarshep to stay and spend overnight.
Day 20: Trek to Kalapathar (5,545 m) and Dingboche (4,410 m) 3 to 4 hours
From Gokarshep, we start our walk upward aiming to reach Kalapathar early morning before sunrays hit the mountains. After walking for some hours leaving Gokarshep, we reach the famous viewpoint of Kalapathar to sight an amazing view of Kalapathar being changed by the morning direct sunlight. After spending some hours, we walk back catching an earlier developed route to Dingboche overnight.
Day 21: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) 7 to 8 hours walk
Early morning crossing Imja Valley, the moderate walk takes to Pheriche and from Pheriche, we drop down to Pangboche Valley before steeping Tengboche. The steep descent from Tengboche crossing Dudh Koshi River takes to Sansa and Namche Bazaar is an easy walk from here. After a long walk, we step into Namche bazaar and this night will be spent at the fine hotel here.
Day 22: Trek to Lukla (2,652 m) 6 to 7 hours
On this day following our trek, we drop down to cross the bridge across Dudh Koshi River and a little distance walk offers Monjo. Finishing some considerations on the same pass point we descend to Phakding crossing other settlements. Following the trail crossing the same Lush forests and rivers expanding the lifestyle of Sherpa settlement and terraced field will finally offer you Lukla. This is the last night to spend in the Himalayas.
Day 23: Fly to Ramechhap and drive back to Kathmandu (1,300 m) 30 to 35-minute flight
After having a light breakfast, we catch our morning flight to Ramechhap. Guide manages all the formalities for your flight and hires porters for your bag and luggage. After you land at the airport (Ramechhap) our private vehicle will be there to pick you up and drive you for around 4 hours towards a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu. Today, we host a farewell dinner in the appreciated local restaurant, where you can enjoy Nepalese cultural dance and music with great Nepali dishes.
Day 24: Final day
On the final day of the trip, you can go for collecting some memories for your loved one before the flight time. Our company’s private vehicle will take you to the airport focusing your flight time for your final departure our representative wishes you a safe journey and successful forward steps with respect and greetings at the airport.

Visa Information
All visitors are required to arrange a visa to enter Nepal. A Nepalese visa can be easily obtained upon arrival on arrival in Kathmandu at the airport or the Nepalese embassy abroad. But nationals from Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Liberia cannot secure the Nepalese Visa upon arrival. The Visa can also be secured at the entry points at Nepalese borders. A valid passport for at least six months and a recent digital photo (size: 1.5" x 1.5") will be required and you can obtain visas for Nepal from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport. Nepalese visas cost USD 25 for 15 days and USD 40 for 30 days to date.
Official Papers
Some of the required official documents are your valid passport, 4 extra passport-sized photographs (for trekking permits), travel insurance, airline tickets, and luggage tags. Visas can be obtained upon entry into Nepal.
Weather Information
The weather in the mountains is pretty difficult to predict. Nights are generally cooler and days are warm. The months of winter (January and February) are a bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. It snows during January, February, and December in the Himalayan areas.
Best time to travel
Nepal offers diversified geographical regions and so the climatic condition differs from the Himalayas to the plains. The climate varies as per the season. Nepal generally offers 4 seasons amongst which autumn and spring are the two most favorable ones for visiting Nepal. It is always wise to know about the weather and climatic condition of the place you visit. The best time to travel depends on your destination, activities, and season of travel. Our destination specialists will recommend certain travel times after learning more about your preferences. The favorable months for trekking and climbing are usually September – November, and February – April. The monsoon season is from June – August.
Physical Fitness
Even though physical fitness plays an important role in trekking you don’t have to be a super athlete or a marathon runner to trek in Nepal. Many people of good fitness for their age can complete the trek. You can prepare yourself beforehand by doing some yoga which will prepare you for your breathing as you will be going to a higher altitude. Running or hiking on hills, or going for a long walk will also help you. And if you live in an urban area running down the stairs of a tall building will also work better in keeping you fit for trekking. Though these preparations aren’t strictly compulsory, you can do well even when the preparations you do aren’t rigorous like that of some ultra-athletic person. Do these things at a moderate pace for two months or even less? And you are set to complete any trekking to Nepal.
Travel Insurance
Doing insurance while trekking in Nepal is not compulsory but will surely help you a lot if you do one, as it covers any comprehensive expenses possible to acquire due to medical issues or accidents. Your travel insurance must protect air ambulance, treatment charges, rescue and evacuation, product cancellation and refundable charges, flight delays, and cancellations. We suggest you bring your travel insurance certificate or send us to scan copy and it must be issued from your homeland. We do not arrange or sell insurance so you can find your local travel insurance for this.
Vaccination for Nepal
All travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities) For traveling to Nepal; we recommend you take vaccination of Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, etc, it is not really must but recommended.

We need a 20% booking amount to confirm your booking, the payment can be made through Bank transfer, Credit card payment (Master/Visa card), or online money transfers also Money Gram, Western Unions, or others. After we get the 20% amount, we will confirm your booking and you will get the official booking and payment receipt. The final balance for the tour will be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu.
Safety Guidelines
Do proper research about the company that you are planning to trek with and make sure they are a legally registered travel agency.
You should be well acquainted with travel health and travel insurance before traveling.
Have an idea about the climate, geography, temperature, and environment of Nepal before starting your trip.
Using credit cards instead of cash is a wiser idea.
The majority of the Nepalese people are nicer but there are a few scammers you will come meet on your way and need to avoid, for example, ‘holy men who will try to plant a tika (a red paste denoting a blessing) on your forehead demanding payment for it on streets.
Be careful while buying medicinal herbs as some may be illegal for you to take home and also be aware of duplicate products.
Never get involved in doing drugs, trafficking, and sexual relations with minors as there are strict rules for these cases, and might get you into a big problem.
Take copies of your passport, visa, air ticket, and trekking permits and keep them separately from the originals.
Prepare yourself for altitude sickness and be familiar with its symptoms so that you can follow the guidelines for safe acclimatization.
