Day 1: Kathmandu (1,400m) to Syabrubesi (1,503m) drive

We start out the first day of the trek with a bus ride out of the Kathmandu Valley to Syabrubesi, which is northwest of Kathmandu, after an early breakfast. Roaring rivers, terraced farms, characteristic Nepali villages, and snow-capped peaks may all be seen from the route. A smooth road leads to Trishuli Bazaar. The route then climbs to Dhunche before descending to Syabrubesi, a bustling bazaar town with a variety of attractions, including relaxing hot springs along the river.

Day 2: Trek from Syabrubesi (1,503m) to Lama Hotel (2,470m)

We start our first trek day on the path from Syabrubesi. We cross the Bhote Kosi to reach the Langtang River, which we then follow through terraced fields and a lush jungle. We proceed forward beyond the landslide region, ascend to Bamboo, and then gradually climb to Rimche, which is situated along the bank of the Langtang River. There are a number of small towns, bamboo and birch forests, and unusual native fauna, such as the red panda, along the route. We keep ascending to the settlement of the Lama Hotel.

Day 3: Trek from Lama Hotel (2,470m) to Langtang village (3,430m)

We ascend through thick woodland as we continue our trip alongside the Langtang River. We will be able to see peeks of snow-capped summits inviting us forward along the journey. At Ghoda Tabela, the once-narrow river valley finally opens up.  Previously, this location was the site of a Tibetan relocation project. To register our documents, we shall halt at the Ghoda Tabela army checkpoint. As we approach the Langtang Valley, we cross the river's east side. We proceed through the prayer flags and water-powered prayer wheels to the picturesque Tamang village of Langtang.

Day 4: Trek from Langtang village (3,430m) to Kyanjin Gompa (3,865m)

As we travel upward, we pass across meadows and tiny, deserted settlements. The expansive Langtang Valley gives expansive views of the massive Himalayas. Our path traverses a glacier moraine as well as other tributaries. Then, at last, we reach Kyanjin Gompa, a location called after the nearby, historic monastery of Kyanjin Gompa, which was formerly the greatest community of our tour. The Kyanjin Gompa has been largely abandoned since the devastating earthquake in 2015. After lunch, we go to the 5,150m (19,600ft) Kyajo Ri Viewpoint for breathtaking views of various mountain ranges and the Langtang Valley. This excursion, though, is optional.

Day 5: Kyanjin Gompa exploration

On this day, we will remain at Kyanjin Gompa to adjust to the altitude. The huge mountains and glaciers may be seen up close in the upper Langtang Valley. We'll be stopping by a number of locations, including the Kyanjin Gompa Monastery and the Yak Cheese Factory. Trekking to Langshisha Kharka and the Tserko Ri (5450) viewpoint will allow you to see the stunning Himalayan peaks, such as Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Langtang II (6,596m), and Yala Peak (5,500m), from where you may take in the breathtaking mountain vistas. The following evening, we head back to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 6: Trek from Kyanjin gompa (3,865m) to Lama Hotel (2,470m)

We say goodbye to the upper highlands from Kyanjin Gomba and begin descending on a path that will lead us out of the valley. We proceed in the same manner as when we arrived in Kyanjin Gomba. We will pass the Langtang Village en route, and after stopping for lunch at Ghora Tabela, we will sign out at the army checkpoint. We descend to Lama Hotel after a leisurely lunch via the river valley's thick trees.

Day 7: Trek from Lama Hotel (2,470m) to Thulo Syabru (2,210m)

You will descend today and cross a small waterfall to reach the banks of the Langtang Khola. The path will lead us through a bamboo and rhododendron forest that is filled with animals like wild boar and monkeys. The trek offers stunning views of Ganesh Himal as well. We will cross a suspension bridge to get to the base of the Thulo Syabru settlement after this day's hike.

Day 8: Trek from Thulo Syabru (2,210m) to Cholangpati (3,654m)

We gradually ascend from Thulo Syabru and pass the army checkpoint for Langtang National Park. After a 30-minute ascent, we arrive in Daragang. From this point on, the trail becomes less steep as it winds through a hemlock and oak forest. You might possibly see the endangered red panda as you move through the jungle. Through Dhimsa and Sing Gompa, we continue our ascent until Cholangpati, where we will pause for the night.

Day 9: Trek from Cholangpati (3,654m) to Gosainkunda Lake (4,380m)

The stunning Langtang Himal (7234 m), the most well-known peak in the entire Langtang Range, will meet you as you ascend.  On a remote, deserted mountain trail, we set off on foot. The spectacular Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and even the Annapurnas on the west horizon can all be seen as you ascend higher. We arrive at Laure Binayak a short while later, after which we start the ascent to Gosainkunda.

We will arrive at a chorten after a two-hour, arduous climb, and after an hour of trekking, you will witness views of two lakes formed by water coming from Gosainkunda: Saraswati Kunda and Bhairav Kunda. Hindus revere this location as holy because they think Lord Shiva like to visit here. Each year, hundreds of pilgrims visit Gosainkunda for a sacred Hindu festival in the fall.

Day 10: Trek from Gosainkunda Lake (4,380m) to Ghopte (3,530m) via Laurebina Pass (4,610m)

You will travel via the Laurebina La High Pass today to reach the picturesque Helambu region. The path initially descends from the lodges to Gosainkunda Lake from there. As we move closer to the Laurebina La Pass, the terrain along the northern bank begins to incline steeply, but not before you pass three or more little lakes.

A large stone stupa and numerous prayer flags serve as markers for the Laurebina La Pass. The Langtang Trek's highest point is this pass. After reaching High Camp (4240 m), we drop across a broad valley before continuing on a steeper, rocky slope to Phedi. We descend to a footbridge over a brook right after Phedi. Long ascents make the trip from Phedi to Ghopte challenging.

Day 11: Trek from Ghopte (3,530m) to Kutumsang (2,470m)

Before we arrive at the serene highland location of Tharepati, we begin our hike through groves of juniper, rhododendron, and pine in a secluded, uninhabited area. The path leaves Tharepati and softly descends the western ridge slope through the woodland. After a while of trekking, we will pass a sizable meadow with shepherd's cottage remains. Peaks like Gangchempo and Dorje Lakpa are visible from the path. The descent then becomes steeper as it passes through woodland and arrives at Magin Goth (3265m). We will pass Kuala Bhanjyang (3335m) after a little hike and then descend to the town of Kutumsang (2470m).

Day 12: Trek from Kutumsang (2,470m) to Chisopani (2,295m)

From Kutumsang, we will climb for a bit before descending to the village of Gul Bhanjyang (2140m). Then we ascend to reach Thorong Danda (2500m), where we then descend on a rocky, steep slope to Chipping settlement.

The settlement of Pati Bhanjyang (1760m), which is halfway between Chipping and Chisopani, is reached after a steady descent. From here, it takes us 30 minutes of walking to get to Chisopani, which is renowned for its breathtaking panoramas of numerous mountains.

Day 13: Trek from Chisopani (2,295m) to Sundarijal (1380m) and drive to Kathmandu (1350m)

We take a short distance to walk from Chisopani to the Shivapuri National Park checkpoint. From here, we travel on a broad road that descends a hill before ascending it on a paved route. We eventually arrive at Sundarijal (1460m), where we bid the trails farewell and board a local bus to Kathmandu after passing a few water reservoirs and sizable water pipes on our way there.

Langtang trek with the Great Everest Trek

We completed the Langtang trek with the Great Everest Trek in October, and it was a fantastic trip. The firm took care of everything and made sure we had a good day. We worked with Sujata, who was a fantastic consultant who was always willing to help and advise. She made sure that all of our needs were satisfied and that we felt at ease in Nepal. Suman and Potter Raju, our guides, were exceedingly helpful and caring. They made my experience truly memorable and pleasurable. For their expertise, I will undoubtedly suggest the Great Everest Trek.
